Carbinge KeepersÔ
This product is the perfect partner for Carbinge Ôor other piano hinge used for attaching cowlings or wingtips.
Each set consists of a female threaded button beautifully machined of stainless steel and a #10/32 internal hex set screw fitted to make a professional finish to your project. The female seat has a 3/8” flange area that fits almost flush with the aircraft skin when the part is embedded in the cowl. The male internal hex screw is drilled and silver soldered to the hinge pin. It is designed to be threaded into the seat until the head is flush with or slightly past the head of the female seat.
Ease and security of installation and attachment is assured with Carbinge KeepersÔ. Three pronounced ridges machined into the cylinder allow it to be securely embedded in the airframe or other part with epoxy/flox or adhesive. (See instruction page) The lengths to diameter of the threads and the thread patterns assure that the pin will seat securely and will not back out under vibration. The original sets of Carbinge KeepersÔ are in service in a Lancair IVP and still performing flawlessly after about 400 hours of flight time as of Oct, 2003.
Carbinge KeepersÔ are guaranteed by the manufacturer not to back out and the solder joint is guaranteed not to fail. Manufacturer agrees to replace or repair at its discretion defective materials returned postage paid. There is no other warranty expressed or implied for these materials and remedy is limited to replacement or repair.
